Running for a Cause, Celebrating 25 Years of Impact

SINGAPORE, DECEMBER 9, 2024 – CJC is thrilled to announce that our Singapore team has secured a spot among the top 25 teams in the 2024 President’s Challenge, coinciding with our 25th anniversary. This remarkable achievement was made possible through the collective effort of the Singapore team and their friends/ family, who ran 3,538.5 kilometres to support The People’s Association (PA) Cares and its beneficiaries.

Through PA Cares’ initiative, which matches each kilometre completed with 1 SGD, CJC’s Singapore team has raised $3,538 for 65 social agencies supporting important causes such as elderly care, hospitals, and rehabilitation centres.

The 2024 President’s Challenge was updated to focus on meeting immediate needs and creating long-term social impact. It aims to support individuals and communities and increase opportunities for developing arts and sports talent.

Asked about how CJC came to participate in the President’s Challenge, Jerand Fenis, Senior Service Delivery Manager at CJC, said, “I discovered this charity while preparing for ultramarathon trail races, and running regularly has allowed me to hit three goals at once: training, staying healthy, and raising funds for a good cause. Thankfully, I have family, friends, and colleagues who are also into running. The more kilometres we run, the more we give back to society.” He adds, “As we celebrate CJC’s 25th anniversary, we aimed to crack into the top 25 teams out of 190 who registered.”

Gina Wee, Chief Information Officer at CJC, who also participated said, “Our team-building activities are usually sports-related to encourage a healthy lifestyle and we now have quite a few runners in our team.  It’s a lovely bonus that we can use our miles to help others and we will be looking for more opportunities to do so in the future.”

CJC is committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) both within our organisation and in the communities where we operate. By participating in events like the President’s Challenge, CJC is proud to contribute and give back to the communities that we operate in. Earlier this year, CJC’s approach to DEI was recognised by the A-Team Group.
