CJC CEO, Paul Gow, Stars in Action-Packed Film

LONDON, APRIL 1, 2025 – CJC is excited to announce the official start of filming for Data Defenders: The MOVIE, in partnership with BKB Studios, a London-based production company. In a move that merges business with blockbuster entertainment, this action-packed and thrilling production aims to bring the challenges of the market data industry to the big screen.

Following CJC’s overwhelming success with The Data Defenders at WFIC 2024 in Austin and viral buzz on social media, BKB Studios posted casting calls late last year.

Filming officially began last month, with CJC’s CEO, Paul Gow stepping into the role of his alter ego – The Boss! Before founding CJC, Paul Gow was an actor and nearly cast as James Bond in 1986 (see screentest image, right). According to BKB Studios, casting Paul for the role was an easy decision, “We just couldn’t find anyone else who could fill The Boss’s shoes, so it only made sense to ask Paul to play himself.”

The first scenes were filmed in a high-tech green screen studio in London that features key moments, including the first on-screen meeting between ‘The Boss’ and ‘The Service Sentinel’, the leader of the Data Defenders, played by actress Floria Pol.

Paul Gow, Founder & CEO of CJC, expressed his excitement saying, “What started as a creative way to showcase CJC’s market data expertise is now a full-fledged movie – watch out, Marvel, CJC is coming for you!” He continued to tease, “This is not just a story for the big screen. It reflects the very real challenges financial institutions face today. The battle against Red Tape is a battle being fought every day in market data management.”

Exclusive Reveal:

We are excited to introduce the film’s primary antagonist – ‘Red Tape,’ starring Ralfi Poole. Red Tape is a shadowy figure who thrives on outdated, paper-based compliance systems, inefficiency, and regulatory confusion, spreading non-compliance while pretending to uphold it. He traps businesses in bureaucracy, keeping critical systems stuck in the past and driving up costs with excessive manual processes.

To face the growing chaos, a new hero emerges – Digital Rights Man, played by Lloyd Fairsoap. With his DLT-powered “paper-to-code” abilities, Digital Rights Man is the only force capable of unravelling Red Tape’s web of inefficiency. By automating compliance, enforcing digital contracts, and eliminating outdated processes, Digital Rights Man brings clarity, efficiency, security, and control to financial firms plagued by complexity.

Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes updates, exclusive character reveals, and a first look at how Digital Rights Man will confront Red Tape in this cinematic adventure!

CJC April Fool’s!: No movie (yet!), But Real Award On The Way

We hope everyone enjoyed our April Fool’s day fun with Data Defenders: The Movie! While Paul Gow will not be trading market data for Hollywood anytime soon, we had a blast bringing Digital Rights Man and Red Tape to life. A huge thank you to Paul for his good sense of humour – the marketing team appreciates his willingness to play along!

But in all seriousness, Paul really has been in front of a camera recently for something incredibly exciting and received a major award (no – not an Oscar!), and we cannot wait to share the news with you very soon. Stay tuned! 😀
