In 2019, a leading IDB firm and Dell Technologies both reached out to CJC to conduct an in-depth performance test of a proposed deployment of Refinitiv TREP on Dell technology. The IDB used Dell technology throughout their global infrastructure and sought to make significant cost reductions in their hardware budget by extending the use of Dell hardware to their TREP infrastructure.
Refinitiv had conducted and certified TREP on HP hardware only and given the critical importance of TREP to their market data architecture, the IDB required assurance that the software would perform as designed on the Dell servers.
CJC was required to test the throughput and latency of TREP running on Dell both against the high standards of the Refinitiv HP testing, but importantly, against the standards set by the clients own infrastructure demands. As a managed service provider of TREP for over 500 firms, CJC compiled 6 months of capacity statistics and provided real-world benchmarks of performance to measure our test results against.
The CJC engineering team’s extensive history of designing, building and operating market data technology along with their deep knowledge of the TREP platform gave our clients the confidence to eliminate HP as the only certified hardware vendor for the TREP platform.
Our extensive testing of the TREP application on the Dell hardware concluded that the Dell servers combined with Solarflare network cards could eclipse benchmark performance requirements and also help the client reduce their capital costs.
